A Sustainable Easter Sunday

Are you looking forward to Easter this year? Candy has always been part of Easter fun, and this year the Orangutan Gang encourages you to purchase sustainably. When you buy sustainable treats, palm oil demand decreases, so the amount of oil-palm-covered space doesn’t increase quite as fast, allowing rainforest inhabitants like orangutans more room to live- and more room to party on Easter Sunday! In addition to your own celebration this Easter, help the rainforest celebrate as well.

Sustainable brands include Nestle, Ghirardelli, Lindt (chocolate bunnies and the Gold Bunny and Egg Pack), and many Cadbury products. A major unsustainable company is See’s Candies. You can also use the PalmSmart scanner app or the Orangutan Project’s Easter Goodie Guide to check products for palm oil.
